Musical performance by Marly Marques (vocals) & Arthur Possing (piano)
    18h30, 20h30 & 22h30 (Location: Auditorium +1)

Marly Marques is accompanied by jazz pianist Arthur Possing to showcase her Portuguese roots and her love of Spanish and Latin American music. The duo invites the audience on a nostalgic journey, revisiting popular songs from the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, ranging from the 1930s to the 1970s. Traditional sounds blend with jazz to create a unique sound, carried by Marly Marques' warm voice and Arthur Possing's sensitivity.

  • Musée Dräi Eechelen
Meet the artist: La cité transparente. Yann Tonnar
    22h00 (LU/EN)

Come and meet Luxembourg artist Yann Tonnar, who will be presenting his new project as part of the European Month of Photography. The project features a series of composite images inspired by nine lithographs by Jean-Baptiste Fresez (1800-1867) and Jean-Nicolas Bernard (1803-1866). By mapping contemporary photographs onto historical lithographs with the same view, Yann Tonnar explores different stages of history and invites us to consider the metamorphosis of the city and takes an unprecedented look at the urban, historical, civilisational and identity issues that shape Luxembourg's past and present. In a single image, the Luxembourg of 1829 and that of today coexist, taking us on a journey through two centuries of history by means of digital collage.

  • Musée Dräi Eechelen
Meet our mediators in the exhibition rooms of "Luxemburger Bundeskontingent. Militär und Gesellschaft im 19. Jahrhundert"
    18h00 - 23h00

Luxembourg's national army was established on the orders of the Dutch King-Grand Duke, specifically for the army of the German Confederation. Amidst a Europe marked by democratic upheavals and national wars, the Luxembourgish federal contingent was unpopular due to its enormous expenses, tighter conscription regulations and use of a foreign language of command, making it a forgotten and nebulous chapter of history. The exhibition focuses on the links between the military and society and considers the political, economic and social impact that recruiting, housing, supplying and equipping the 1,600 soldiers – Luxembourgish conscripts under initially mainly Prussian and Dutch officers – had on everyday life in the Grand Duchy.

From 6 pm until 11 pm our museum guides are available in the exhibition rooms to answer your questions.

  • Musée Dräi Eechelen
Meet our mediators in the permanent exhibition "Fortress, History, Identities"

Discover the history of Luxembourg’s fortress through the unique and exceptional objects on display in the permanent exhibition. Travel back in time and meet the fascinating characters who have shaped over 500 years of Luxembourgish history.

From 6 pm until 11 pm our museum guides are available in the exhibition rooms to answer your questions.

Equipped with helmets, you will walk through this tunnel, which was built by the Austrians in 1732-33. This tour is not accessible for people with reduced mobility or claustrophobia, as the underground connection is about 2 metres high and 1 metre wide.

Theatrical performance: Adam Sigmund von Thüngen
    17h00 - 23h00 (LU, DE, FR, EN)

As he walks through the exhibition rooms, he reveals fascinating details about everyday life in the fortress and the development of the fortress city of Luxembourg.

Green Events

The Museum Night 2025 has received the logo ‘Green Events’ for its commitment to the environment. The logo is awarded by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity in the framework of the ‘Green Events’ project. More information on: greenevents.lu

Our commitment to a more sustainable event is reflected in the following actions:

- Our communications have gone green! We print climate-neutral on recycled paper. And to further reduce our ecological footprint, the evening's programme is available exclusively online.

- Special shuttle buses! Along with free public transport, special shuttle buses will run between the seven museums throughout the evening. In addition to our beloved historic buses, we introduced 100% electric mini-buses! Take a look at our shuttle timetable. You can also use the free Night Bus services offered by multiple municipalities for a hassle-free trip back home. Further information: mobiliteit.lu

- Eat local and organic food! Discover a culinary offer that is partly local and organic, with vegetarian and vegan options.

- All reusable! This year, the museums are opting exclusively for reusable tableware and will no longer be handing out single-use gadgets.

Want to go the extra mile in supporting us? The museum shops will be open during the Museum Night. Don’t forget to bring your own bags — it’s better for the environment!
