Natur musée

  • Luc Spada
    Natur musée
    Luc Spada
    19H00 | 21H00 | 23H00

Luc Spada works with words and loves the stage. He writes about the good and the evil of people - rubs up against their extremes, their enmities, their abysses - but also recognises their beauty. This winter he will release his first music album. Music? Yes. With a strong reference to literature. But danceable. And also sad. With humour, of course. Like a melancholic disco sphere, he moves between death, hope and life. He deals with the death of his father from cancer, the isolation, the nervous breakdowns, the excessive demands ... stretches two fingers in the air and defies loneliness.

  • Mr Science
    Natur musée
Coup de cœur, with Joseph Rodesch alias Mister Science
    22H30

For over ten years now, Mr Science has been getting his audience excited about science, informing them about relevant research and, above all, making sure they have lots of fun. What many do not know: Joseph Rodesch, the man behind the fictional character Mr Science, is an employee at the National Research Fund and fulfills an important strategic task in the Grand Duchy: he is a mediator between science and non-scientists.

  • Ichthyosaurus
    Natur musée
Guided tours of the exhibition 'Lost Ocean', with Ben Thuy, palaeontologist at the National Museum of Natural History and exhibition curator
    18H30 (LU) | 20H30 (FR) | 22H00 (LU)

When palaeontological research and digital technologies join forces, a fossil exhibition turns into an ancient ocean teeming with extinct creatures. Explore the local fossil treasures from a brand new perspective and immerse yourself into the world of Jurassic sea monsters.

  • Isabelle Marinov
    Natur musée
    Reading for children
    17H30 – 18H15 (LU) | 19H30 – 20H15 (EN)

With Isabelle Marinov, author of the children’s books 'Leo and the Octopus' et 'The Boy Whose Head Was Filled With Stars, A Life of Edwin Hubble'

When Isabelle was 9 years old, her parents gave her a red typewriter for her birthday. She began typing away, crafting stories in German and in Luxembourgish, her native language. Growing up, 'writer' seemed like a non-existent job description. Isabelle studied law in France and in the US and got a 'proper' job. But she secretly continued to write in the evenings and on weekends. After her first son was born, she returned to her lifelong passion –– writing, and for the first time, she thought about it as a job. Isabelle speaks four languages fluently but for a reason that defies her, English is her preferred language for prose. Isabelle writes across genres … picture books, middle grade novels, screenplays. A member of the SCBWI, she was a 2017/18 Children's Literature Fellow at Stony Brook University in Southampton, NY.
