  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
Workshop for kids: Print your Renert!
17H00–23H00 (multilingual) | Location: espace pédagogique (Level 3)

The youngest visitors will have the chance to print their own “Renert” (fox) at the Lëtzebuerg City Museum during the Nuit des Musées 2024. A one-of-a-kind piece of Luxembourgish literary history that they can proudly take home!

  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
Screenprint tattoo workshop for children and adults with the artist Irina Moons: Screenprint vs. Footprint
17h00–01h00 (multilingual) | Location: Creative Studio of the exhibition "Pure Europe" (Level 5)

With a range of motifs to choose from, young and old alike can choose the tattoo they like and get it applied with water-based paint. The ephemeral tattoo will be silk-screened onto the skin with a mini squeegee. What a lovely souvenir of the Museum Night!

  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
Lëtzebuerg City Museum SING ALONG!, with Tanja Duprez and Nadja Prange
    19H30, 21H00 & 22H30

As part of the Museum Night, visitors will have the opportunity to cross the line and switch from whispering to singing at the Lëtzebuerg City Museum. Accompanied by piano, the audience will sing in a warm atmosphere the best songs from a wide repertoire.

The musicians Tanja Duprez (vocals) and Nadja Prange (piano/vocals) have been performing on stage together for over a decade, whether as part of the cover band the Noisemakers or as part of the music group Nea Lone (organ pop). Enough time, therefore, to harmonise perfectly with each other and create an atmosphere in which both the musicians and the audience feel at ease right from the start.

  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
    DJ-Set by Ultraschall Collective
    21H00–01H00

The musical entertainment in the courtyard of the Lëtzebuerg City Museum will be curated by Ultraschall Collective, a Luxembourg based collective that consists of 5 young people dedicated to push a new era of house and tech house music on a local and international level while always trying to showcase talented local artists.

  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
"Coup de cœur" with Stilbé Schroeder
    20H00 (LU)

As in previous years, each museum is offering a special guided tour called "Coup de Cœur." For this year's edition, seven external curators have been invited to present their favorite piece in one of the seven museums. Each of them has taken the time to immerse themselves in the work of their chosen museum, ensuring a thoughtful and engaging presentation.

The Lëtzebuerg City Museum welcomes Stilbé Schroeder, curator and manager of the exhibition at Casino Luxembourg. After living, studying and working in Brussels and Strasbourg, Stilbé Schroeder returned to Luxembourg in 2015 and joined Casino Luxembourg as exhibition coordinator. In 2017 and 2019, she was assistant curator of the Luxembourg pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Since 2021, she works as curator at Casino Luxembourg, participating in the reflections and conception of the institution's exhibition programme.

  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
"Coup de cœur" with Charles Rouleau
    22H00 (EN)

As in previous years, each museum is offering a special guided tour called "Coup de Cœur." For this year's edition, seven external curators have been invited to present their favorite piece in one of the seven museums. Each of them has taken the time to immerse themselves in the work of their chosen museum, ensuring a thoughtful and engaging presentation.

The Lëtzebuerg City Museum welcomes Charles Rouleau, Coordinator of the Casino Display. Originally from Quebec, Charles Rouleau came to Europe to complete his university studies, first at the University of Heidelberg and then at the University of Amsterdam. Since 2022, he is the coordinator of Casino Display. His role is to oversee the residency programme and support artists in their research and reflection. He has also set up an artistic research laboratory, focusing on critical and methodological issues relating to experimentation and artistic and curatorial research. In parallel with his professional activity, he is working on a doctoral thesis in artistic research at the University of Amsterdam.

Let us take the time to discover together this fascinating period in the history of the city of Luxembourg. Contemporary art in the exhibition on the history of the City of Luxembourg The Luxembourg Story? Yes, because these contemporary works reflect the image of the city today and are therefore a logical continuation of the historical tour. Discover the works of around ten artists who reflect on socio-cultural issues of urban life in Luxembourg and beyond its borders.

    19H00 (EN), 23H00 (FR)

Explore the production areas of Luxembourg's industry from the 18th century onwards on a tour of our permanent exhibition The Luxembourg Story.

Gloves, faience, roses, tobacco, beer and champagne. Through the model and artefacts, you can discover these products that made the industry in the heart of the city great.

  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
L AM - Lëtzebuerger Architektur Musée presents the architecture collective "Krater Fajan"
    Ongoing

‘The group dynamic is an inscrutable, unfathomable thing. Many minds, many pipe dreams, many fantasies, many differences. This brings advantages, but also prevents us from harmonising everything. You can see this as a difficulty, but you can also use it to avoid being lumped together. In any case, one thing is certain: although we are an organisation with a changing agenda, we have made it our mission to tackle things together, to work things out, to sound them out and to unbalance them again. Krater Fajan, the art and architecture collective, was founded in 2013, and we tilt until it tingles and explore crater boundaries until the meteorite hits us. To do this, we have to dream with you, discuss, break apart and put ourselves back together again.’

  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
Culinary Night at Lëtzebuerg City Museum
    Ongoing

    L’Hêtre beim Musée
During the Museum Night, the brasserie L’Hêtre beim Musée will captivate visitors with its delicious barbecue. The chefs will add a special touch to the activities held in the courtyard of the Lëtzebuerg City Museum by offering freshly prepared snacks made from high-quality ingredients.

  • Lëtzebuerg City Museum
Culinary Night at Lëtzebuerg City Museum
    Ongoing

    Benoît & Claude Viticulteurs
Benoît & Claude Viticulteurs are a small, family-run winery located in the vineyards of Remich. During the Nuit des Musées, you can find them in the courtyard of the Lëtzebuerg City Museum for a glass of “roude Fiederwäissen”, a first taste of the 2024 wines. Also take pleasure in a culinary time-out in the midst of the cultural richness of this special night.

SUSTAINABILITY

Green Events

The Museum Night 2024 has received the logo ‘Green Events’ for its commitment to the environment. The logo is awarded by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity in the framework of the ‘Green Events’ project. More information on: greenevents.lu

Our commitment to a more sustainable event is reflected in the following actions:

- Our communications have gone green! We print climate-neutral on recycled paper. And to further reduce our ecological footprint, the evening's programme is available exclusively online.

- Special shuttle buses! Along with free public transport, special shuttle buses will run between the seven museums throughout the evening. In addition to our beloved historic buses, we introduced 100% electric mini-buses! Take a look at our shuttle timetable. You can also use the free Night Bus services offered by multiple municipalities for a hassle-free trip back home. Further information: mobiliteit.lu

- Eat local and organic food! Discover a culinary offer that is partly local and organic, with vegetarian and vegan options.

- All reusable! This year, the museums are opting exclusively for reusable tableware and will no longer be handing out single-use gadgets.

SAY CHEESE !

Photos and videos of the activities and audience may be taken throughout the event. They will then be used across different channels for communication purposes. If you do not wish for your children or yourself to appear on these photos, please make this known at the information desk.
